The Mission
At AbSouLute Beauty, our mission is to honor and celebrate Black hair and culture through expert, intentional, and caring hair services while empowering clients and stylists with knowledge, confidence, and tools for healthy hair and sustainable growth.
Service is personal and so is how I work. Every session is designed to create a look that fits your life while respecting the culture and history behind Black hair. I’ve been styling since 2012 and love sharing tips you can actually use. Beyond the chair, I support small businesses and community projects so they can stay organized, grow, and feel empowered. Come for the hair, stay for the skills, support, and care.

Starting as a self-taught braider, my journey reflects hard work, dedication, and deep respect for culture. AbSouLute Beauty grew from humble beginnings into a trusted community space, focused on honoring Black hair and uplifting both clients and fellow stylists across the Central Valley. My story is about empowering people through skill, respect, and meaningful relationships built one connection at a time.

Meet the CEO
I’m Jamila Wheeler, CEO of AbSouLute Beauty. I started braiding when I was eleven, trading hairstyles for earrings with my classmates. After apprenticing under an experienced braider, I launched my own business at fourteen. When I became pregnant at fifteen, hair became my main way to support my son.
Now, with over fourteen years of professional experience, I have built AbSouLute Beauty around the idea that doing hair is a sacred ritual that creates memories long after you leave the chair. My mission goes beyond styling. I love teaching aspiring beauty professionals and supporting grassroots organizations with freelance administrative work.
Everything I do is guided by one simple motto: Beauty is all around you.
